Maslobinia in Panagia in Greek Thassos - this is an interesting excursion and buying extra virgin olive oil directly from the manufacturer. The oil mill is located in the village of Panagia, next to entry into it. 
Here you can see the machines, presses and other devices for making olive oil. There is an exhibition in a separate annexe-room. To understand the purpose of a particular machine, you need to understand a little of the technique or be able to read in English or Greek. Signatures and explanations to the machines are made in these languages. The entrance to the dairy is free, the premises are not large and there will not be much time to study. There is a store with a dairy. Actually, with it, then you will begin an inspection, since it is located a facade to the road and parking, and the room with the machines - on the orders of the store.  The store is decorated thematically, at the entrance there are olive trees. Inside the store on the walls you will see photos that tell a little about the history of the production of oil.
As for the goods of this shop, here you can buy olive oil, produced exactly on Thassos. There are different capacities and volume. On the container the place of production is written - Sotiros, Thassos. We remind you that if you buy a large container, look at the production date. That the oil had time to be preserved for a long time. Also here you can buy bracelets from olive wood, medical cream based on beeswax and olive oil.
Oil prices are adequate, not higher than in stores, but not too low. Price for quality Extra Virgin for tin cans of 5 liters - 20-22 euros (for 2014). Since Panagia village is in itself an attractive place, you can combine her visit with a tour of the oil mill, and also look into the chapel and the church of the Holy Virgin.
